Dear Horse Enthusiast,

The Georgetown/Scott County community will be celebrating the 34th anniversary of the Festival of the Horse in 2014.  The Georgetown Woman’s Club is proud to announce that they are continuing to be coordinators of the Festival of the Horse Grand Parade.  Experience the Horse/Horse Games will take place on Saturday at Brooking/Scott County Park. The Neuville’s will again organize the Festival of the Horse, Horse Show.

Festival of the Horse Grand Parade

The Festival would like you to consider participating in this year’s Grand Parade and Sunday’s Horse Show.  You may sign up for the Horse Show the day of the event. We have enclosed the entry form for the Grand Parade to be returned by September 15, 2014.  Once we receive your Parade registration, we will send a confirmation letter.

On Saturday, October 4th the Georgetown Woman’s Club will hold the annual Toyota Grand Parade featuring an all horse revue.  The parade includes saddle horses with riders, drill teams and horse-drawn vehicles.  We will continue the “Parade of  Breeds” as an educational part of the parade.  If you would like to be considered to represent your breed in the Parade of Breeds, pleased check the box on the application – please include picture.

Festival of the Horse Grand Parade

After your application, coggins test and assumption of risk have been received, a confirmation letter will be sent to you including parade line-up position, information on the festival activities, and a map for area parking. Please check if you or your group would like to be judged in one of the 8 categories. The judging criteria information will be sent along with a map showing where the judging will take place. Festival of the Horse, Inc. reserves the right to photograph all entries for future publications. This is an all-horse parade. No motorized vehicles are permitted. Due to complaints and for the safety of all — no handouts of any kind including: candy, beads, ribbons, booklets, pamphlets or promotional materials. You will be pulled from the parade!
