Might as well experience everything else Georgetown has to offer while in town! Below are public events/activities hosted by our community taking place during the exciting Festival of the Horse weekend.

Seed to Feed | Royal Spring Park | September 8

Satisfy the foodie within at Georgetown/Scott County Tourism’s 2nd Annual Seed to Feed Dinner Series. Enjoy a special dinner prepared by Chef Justin Thompson of Local Feed, as Chef Mark Jensen of Middle Fork Kitchen Bar in Lexington accompanies him at Royal Spring Park. This event includes a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres from 6:00-7:00 followed by a six course dinner with alcohol (beer, wine, cocktails). Farmers Market | City Hall Parking Lot | September 9

Enjoy fresh produce at the Scott County Farmers Market on Saturday, September 9th from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Local farmers come together at City Hall’s parking lot in downtown Georgetown and offer everything from fresh fruits & vegetables to homemade recipes & treats.

 

Ward Hall Open House | September 9 & 10

Tours of Ward Hall are available 1-6 p.m on September 9th and 10th. Ward Hall, completed in 1857, is considered one of the nation’s finest Greek Revival-style mansions. Ward Hall’s center hallway is dominated by a copy of George Peter Alexander Healey’s 1860 portrait of Sallie Ward, a celebrated Kentucky belle of her day. Open the first two weekends of every month and holidays. Special tours are always available by appointment. Tour tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for children (12-18) and free for children (11 and under). Visit www.wardhell.net for additional information.

 

Apple Festival | Evans Orchard | September 9 & 10

Celebrate the beginning of fall with our annual Apple Festival! Craft booths, live music, great food and the opening of u-pick apples! We will have caramel apples, fried apple pies and fresh pressed apple cider. The play area and barnyard will be open along with pony rides and hayrides. FREE ADMISSION.

 

AutumnFest | Bi-Water Farm | September 9 & 10

When pumpkins and the apples start to ripen for the fall season, Adventures begin on the Farm! There’s unlimited access 7 days a week to Hayrides, Spooky FarmHouse, Sky High Slide, Bunnyville, Pumpkin Vine Zip Lines, Chutes and Slides, Culver’s “Thank You Farmers” 5 Acre Corn Maze, Petting Zoo and much more. Paws in the Pool | Suffoletta Aquatic Center | September 10

Now that human swimming season is over, dog swimming is just beginning! Paws in the Pool is a pool party for your pooch on Sunday, September 10th. Registration begins at 2:30 p.m. at Suffoletta Family Aquatic Center. Dogs under 40lbs can pool from 3-4:30 p.m. and dogs over 40lbs pool from 4:15-5:45 p.m. $10 per dog.
